Job Summary: The Senior Financial Analyst serves MercyOne’s vision and mission by overseeing and developing an environment of effective decision making, forecasting and sound business planning, relating to decision support, service line analysis, dashboard reporting, financial analysis, productivity processing, long-range financial planning, operating and capital budgeting.  Works closely with all levels of management in order to develop and package services catered to meet the specific needs of customers.  Provides timely delivery of quality financial products and services to customers.  Effectively develops, executes and oversees the processes and systems that deliver financial services. Increases opportunities for adoption and usage of key statistics in reporting and accountability.   - Support MercyOne’s system-wide strategies and operational planning activities with the routine operation of all financial systems.   - Develop and produce routine reports from financial systems, ensuring accuracy of data.   - Audit and reconcile budget, cost accounting, productivity and general ledger systems to assure accurate and consistent data.   - Responsible for designing tools, forms, worksheets, manuals and other materials as necessary to facilitate the financial planning and analysis activity.   - Conduct financial forecasting for the MercyOne, each business unit, and related joint ventures, including financial statement analysis, preparation of pro forma financial statements, break even analyses, cash flow projections, ratio analyses, cash planning, capital planning, and evaluation of financing options, as applicable.   - Develop customized executive dashboards including, reporting compliance with key income statement and balance sheet ratios and indicators agreed upon in the budgeting and strategic planning process, as applicable. Interact with applicable hospital departments as required in order to facilitate JCAHO compliance, life safety standards, and special hospital programs.  Send out annual tenant and leadership satisfaction surveys and review results with leadership - Other duties as assigned by management. - Administrative and Financial Reporting - Provide information and direct input on major fiscal activities and capital requests, including business planning, budget preparation and financial planning. - Work with finance, review and approve detailed monthly budget of all property operating costs and produce variance explanations and financial reports for assigned properties. - Work with Lease administration to complete annual CAM reconciliations to ensure accuracy of tenant charges; coordinate billing of tenants for any charges outside the lease requirements. - Collaborate with finance department to produce month-end close and year-end reporting and ensure accuracy based on invoice and payments. - Acquisition / Disposition Due Diligence - Assist with due diligence and acquisition or disposition of properties to ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. - Gather and collect required documents requested by NRES team. - Strategic Initiatives - Work with local hospital leadership to understand strategic initiatives and convey to the NRES team. - Implement strategies as required. - Other activities - Represent NRES in selected business, community and industry organizations and groups.
