The Medical Support Assistant (MSA) is responsible for screening employees, patients, and guests for symptoms of COVID-19 prior to them being allowed to enter our facilities, as well as transport patients as needed. The goal of the position is to ensure that everyone is screened in accordance with our COVID-19 guidelines and that patients are transported to their respective location. The MSA also supports the visitor policy as related to COVID-19.   - Ask list of screening questions (provided at orientation) to all employees, patients, and guests to rule out COVID-19 symptoms. - If symptoms, do not allow entry and refer them to their health care provider. - For employees who have elected to have COVID-19 testing due to general availability, allow entry, but they must be masked at all times, even in break rooms until test returned. - Provide a loop mask to everyone who is cleared to enter our facilities and ensure they mask and use hand sanitizer prior to entering our facilities. Job Summary: Produces two-dimensional cardiac ultrasonic recordings to evaluate the anatomy and hemodynamics (blood flow) of the heart, its valves and related blood vessels as prescribed by a physician for purposes of disease diagnosis and study of malfunctioning organs. Work includes performing ultrasound procedures, stress echo's; bubble studies and contrast echo's. Incumbents perform technological functions to ensure optimal diagnostic quality of patient test results utilizing efficient and safe processes that are in keeping with department protocols and applicable regulatory requirements. An incumbent assumes responsibility for the safe, efficient and proper operation of ultrasound equipment. Incumbents are also accountable for; keeping abreast of FHS standards, protocols and procedures relating to the department; keeping skills current; demonstrating evidence of continuing education to include department meetings, individualized learning opportunities from physicians and related classes. Essential Duties: Prepares patients and performs ultrasound tests based on physicians’ orders and in adherence to department protocols to obtain the correct, cross sectional anatomy and detail of a requested scan area. Delivers patient care for all age groups while performing ultrasound exams/procedures and/or special procedures. Reviews and compiles clinical data in accordance with departmental deadlines for physician interpretation of echo records. Performs incidental general office duties to include; answering phone; scheduling; filing; maintaining patient records; ordering supplies.

POSITION SUMMARY: The Echo Technologist performs all echocardiograms, vascular (including arterial doppler, non invasive vascular) exams. These procedures will be performed on various ages of patients in accordance with the age-specific delivery of care policy. This person will be able to operate all Ultrasound, non-invasive vascular and process images as needed. The technologist may be required to be available for emergency call and will also perform clerical and transporting duties as assigned by the department manager.   ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: - Demonstrates knowledge of all clerical duties in the front office. - Demonstrates knowledge of image maintenance and filing system. - Demonstrates knowledge of use of equipment in office, such as computer, fax/copier. - Demonstrates knowledge of the transportation of patients and patient care. - Assists in coverage of department and telephone communications. - Demonstrates knowledge of scheduling outpatients and inpatients, with the proper preparations. - Demonstrates competence in being able to work independently performing all Echocardiograms, Vascular, Noninvasive Vascular. Is competent in troubleshooting Ultrasound machine problems, doing quality assurance on Ultrasound machine and training other personnel when needed. - Identifies Age Specific needs of patient and complies with the same. - Performs all duties as a Sonographer along with being able to take emergency call with a response time of 1 hour. - Demonstrates ability to operate all ultrasound equipment along with performing routine equipment maintenance when necessary. - Assists department manager in the purchase of new ultrasound equipment. - Demonstrates eagerness to teach Ultrasound Technology students. - Demonstrates ability to use PACS computers - Demonstrates knowledge to burn CD’s of images. - Demonstrates professional attitude and interest in work by maintaining acceptable work habits and behavior. - Demonstrates responsibility for own professional growth and continuing education. - Meets yearly ongoing age specific and other competencies. - Demonstrates knowledge of Radiology Department workflow processes, policies/procedures, adhering to quality improvement standards. - Demonstrates commitment to customer service.
