Job Summary: This position coordinates the planning, development and execution of emergency management programs for the assigned area and facilities within the organization in accordance with established procedures and regulatory requirements.  This includes policy and procedure development, drill and exercise program management, education and training development, and emergency response plans at the site based levels. The role represents the organization at community planning activities, and identifies and ensures compliance with grant-funding opportunities and requirements. Duties require knowledge of emergency preparedness/management standards, practices and regulatory requirements and the ability to integrate/coordinate the activities of various entities/facilities and to ensure that stakeholders/staff are adequately prepared to anticipate/execute responses to disaster situations in a timely, cohesive and effective manner.  Work also requires the ability efficiently/effectively problem solve complex issues in high-pressure situations. Essential Job Functions: - Represents the organization at assigned facilities on local, regional and state committees and task forces convened to prepare and promote disaster/emergency management initiatives/activities. - Provides emergency preparedness/response training to staff, management, and providers (e.g., chemical decontamination, personal preparedness, etc.). - Conducts research, gathers best practice information, conducts site-based assessments and facilitates meetings for the development of site-based disaster/emergency management planning and implementation in coordination with the master organizational plans. - In collaboration with Manager-Emergency Preparedness and Compliance Officer, plans, develops, implements and administers emergency management plans in accordance with TJC, OSHA, CMS and other regulatory standards. - Facilitates the emergency management/disaster response planning process by gathering information and assisting site-based management to identify risks and capabilities and establishes priorities for improvement.  Leads site-based teams to develop facility emergency response plans. - Conducts, following established procedures, site-based assessments and monitors/reports on level of preparedness for emergencies and disasters. - Facilitates and leads internal disaster planning meetings, including preparing agenda, coordinating meeting setup, taking and distributing meeting minutes.  Provides project management support to assure assignments are met by agreed upon deadlines. - Facilitates and coordinates assigned projects to further preparedness of our local facilities, as assigned by manager (i.e., development of decontamination standards). - Coordinates the execution of site-based emergency management plans/programs in the event of an actual disaster or emergency, and supports organizational master plan activation. - Maintains and provides disaster related supplies/equipment inventory/documentation, following system processes for maintaining equipment records, in accordance with grant requirements. - Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and grant provisions. - Collaborates with internal and external community agencies in the solicitation and obtainment of available grant funding to promote emergency preparedness activities.
