Completes list each morning of planned calls to third party payors. Completes “Managed Care Log” completely, specifying number of days, approval codes, and next review date. Completes avoidable day form as indicated. 3. APPROPRIATENESS Ensures appropriateness of continued hospital care for all patients according to established guidelines and intervenes as indicated. Cases are reviewed using the appropriate payor criteria for the following: 1) level of care 2) medical necessity 3) readiness for discharge Reviews record of all HMO patients on observation status and intervenes as needed.
