Job Summary: This job is responsible for providing training/education to clinic patients to facilitate successful PAP/CPAP therapy and help individuals with sleep issues to maximize treatment opportunities and reduce related health risks. An incumbent works closely with patients to conitor/analyze device readings, review compliance/progress with plan of care and self-management objectives and to eliminate barriers to maximizing the quality of care. The Nurse Residency Program (NRP) is designed to support the new graduate during the transition from the student role to the licensed Registered Nurse (RN) role. All CHI St. Joseph Health nurse residents receive ongoing professional and educational support from a team of education specialists, nursing leaders, preceptors and mentors. At the conclusion of the first year in practice, nurse residents report enhanced self-confidence in providing excellent patient care and function with practice that is in alignment with the CHI St. Joseph Health mission, vision and values. Former nurse residents also serve as mentors and unit leaders, sit on a variety of nursing councils and many are seeking advanced degrees and certifications.    Graduate Nurse Resident are responsible for the delivery of excellence in patient care through assessing, formulating nursing diagnoses and establishing goals, planning and implementing intervention and evaluating patient care outcomes.   As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering the highest quality patient care according to the specific orders of each patient’s individual physician. This will involve, utilizing your knowledge and skills to educate patients and their families on prevention and healthy habits. Additional responsibilities for this Post Surgical Unit RN role include: - Monitoring patients’ conditions and assessing their needs - Collaborating with physicians and nurses to devise individualized care plans for patients - Administering patients’ medications and providing treatments according to physicians’ orders - Fostering a supportive and compassionate environment to care for patients and their families
