These services are delivered in compliance with CHI St Joseph Health’s mission, ethical standards, and policies and procedures.  The hand therapist will work directly with the hand surgeon and orthopedic rehabilitation team to support, develop, and implement pre- and post- surgical protocols for hand rehabilitation services throughout the health system.  The hand therapist will treat the following, but not limited to, conditions: tendon injuries, peripheral nerve injuries, crush injuries, repetitive motion disorders, lacerations, arthritis, joint replacement, and digit reattachments.  Services provided by the hand therapist will include post-operative management of upper extremities, custom orthoses of the upper extremities, joint mobilization, instrument-assisted soft tissue techniques, manual therapy, taping techniques, wound and scar management, edema management, work simulation, range of motion, strengthening, and arthritis management.  The hand therapist will be proficient and skilled in fabricating and choosing appropriate splints and other adaptive equipment.   The hand therapist will assist and guide the CHI St Joseph Health administration in purchasing decisions related to hand rehabilitation services using best practices and considering cost efficiency.  The hand therapist will serve as a mentor to the 80+ member therapy team in the area of hand rehabilitation.    ACCOUNTABILITIES - ESSENTIAL - Evaluates/assesses patients in a systematic and thorough manner; establishes appropriate treatment plans and goals within specified time frames; administers appropriate treatments to patients; knowledge and skill in therapeutic exercises, modalities, rehab equipment, manual techniques, and transfers. JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Complementary Therapies Coordinator, provides massage therapy services, consultation, and education. Works in every way possible to improve the comfort and satisfaction of Harrison Medical Center internal and external customers. Supports, promotes, and enhances the healing environment and a mind-body-spirit approach to health and wellness.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES: - Effectively delivers massage therapy services, consultation, and education within ones scope of practice. - Demonstrated desire and capacity to learn and implement additional complementary therapy modalities. - Works cooperatively with a variety of clinical and administrative staff to ensure continuity of care. - Effectively manages client/patient case load. - Listens and collaborates closely with treatment team and / or patient to achieve optimal outcomes. - Timely completion of departmental paperwork, clinical documentation, and related billing requirements. - Performs duties that support the goal of referral growth through provider and patient satisfaction, education and communication. - Consistently makes themselves available to other members of the team by initiating opportunities to assist and/or round during down times. - Remains current on best practices, industry standards, and innovation related to modalities utilized. - Supports and mentors department volunteers.

JOB SUMMARY - The occupational therapist (OT) delivers quality therapy services to patients by performing evaluations and developing individual treatment plans and goals to maximize functional outcomes. The OT is responsible for maintaining standards of professional and ethical practice following the guidelines of the State of Texas Board of Examiners for Occupational Therapy. The OT actively participates in discharge planning, implements the treatment program, and reassesses treatment results. Services are delivered within the framework of an interdisciplinary team approach, including significant others, and the patient. These services are delivered in compliance with St. Joseph Health's mission, ethical standards, and policies and procedures.  ACCOUNTABILITIES - ESSENTIAL - Evaluates/assesses patients in a systematic and thorough manner; establishes appropriate treatment plans and goals within specified time frames; administers appropriate treatments to patients; knowledge and skill in therapeutic exercises, modalities, rehab equipment, manual techniques, transfers and ADL.s - Maintains timely and accurate medical records; records legibly in patient charts; completes reports in an organized, thorough and timely manner. - Fosters communication with other therapists, physicians, nurses, volunteers, patients and families and other hospital personnel to establish department support; attends and provides quality input to team conferences, departmental meetings, and other hospital meetings. - Instruction and supervision in patient care of OT assistants, rehabilitation technicians and student affiliates in a respectful, courteous and consistent manner; assist in performance appraisals of current/new personnel or students. - Completes all patient and family education; provides information on outside resources to meet the patient's specific needs. - Attends department and hospital inservices; attends one seminar/conference annually. - Assists with teaching/training of new/current personnel. - Performs other duties as assigned to meet the organization`s needs.
