Assures information on all current hospital and department policies and procedures are disseminated promptly to all staff. Instills confidence in team members through recognition and reinforcement of successes by team and its members. Develops teams’ ability to focus on immediate issues, move quickly, and achieve specific results as planned. Coordinates audits from the individual carriers to insure credentialing / recredentialing requests are handled efficiently and appropriately. Audit sampling for records to confirm compliance.   Prepares all billing encounter forms and insures that all services provided have been billed for by the respective providers in the hospitalist program.  Adds new patients to the physician billing system, coordinating data exchange between the hospital (STAR) system and the professional billing software (IDX/GPMS) to insure accurate and timely billing. Returns inaccurate or incomplete encounter forms to the respective physician and tracks correction/completion. Responds to all inquiries from APMI or insurance carriers regarding denied claims or claims sent to Utilization Review.
